SHAWNEE, Okla. – The Great American Conference Western Division Champion SWOSU Lady Bulldogs finished out the regular season on Saturday with an 85-71 victory at Oklahoma Baptist in Shawnee. The win is the fifth consecutive for the 19th-ranked Lady Dawgs, who close out the regular season with a record of 16-2.
SWOSU got a combined 60 points from
Makyra Tramble,
Bethany Franks,
Taber Beer and
Lauren Ramey, with each player hitting three three-pointers and scoring in double figures. Tramble recorded a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds, while Franks and Beer added 15 points apiece and Ramey chipped in 13. Beer led the Lady Dawgs with five assists and Franks added to her school-record total with a team-best three steals.
With their 16-2 record, the Lady Bulldogs won the GAC's Western Division by five games over Southeastern Oklahoma State. As the top seed in the West, SWOSU earns a bye in the opening round of the GAC Tournament and they will wait until Wednesday to host the winner between Ouachita and Southern Arkansas in a quarterfinal matchup. That game will tip off at 5:30 pm on Wednesday evening at the Pioneer Cellular Event Center.
