ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – The SWOSU Soccer team came out of their contest with Ouachita Baptist with a 2-1 win on Thursday afternoon, with both goals coming from Sophomore forward
Brianna Benitez.

The Dawgs came out of the gate kicking, out shooting the Tigers six to four in the first half. The two sides were trading shots and fouls, before Benitez scored a 37
th minute goal for the first score of the game. This would be the only score going into halftime.

The second half would be more physical as the teams combined for 14 fouls and one yellow card (
Brenna McGuirk) in the last 45 minutes. Benitez would score again in the 62
nd minute of the game to put it out of reach for SWOSU. In the 72
nd minute, Ouachita Baptist would score via a goal from defender Jamie Fowler, assisted by Sydni Perry.

Goalkeeper
Kirstyn Dill had a light day only accruing two saves on the day, with both of them coming in the 2
nd half.
Micaela Swain led the Dawgs in shots with five and
Brenna McGuirk also had two shots.Â

The SWOSU Soccer team will have just one day to enjoy the road win. They will stay in Arkansas for their next contest. They go to Searcy to play Harding on October 9
th at 11:00 AM at the Stevens Soccer Complex.
