SWOSU Sweeps Saturday Match

WEATHERFORD, Okla. – SWOSU Volleyball took care of business on Saturday morning, beating Randall University in three sets to pick up their ninth win on the year and their third in a row.

Facing an outmatched Randall, the Bulldogs did what they needed to do to finish this week undefeated. Head Coach Josh Collins rotated through sixteen different players and was rewarded with career highs in kills for both Zoey Sparks and Maddie Clark.

The first set could not have been any better for the Dawgs. Samantha Kuzma led the charge with seven kills in the opening frame, but the set would be defined by the errors. Too many of them for the Saints and the lack there of for the Bulldogs. Randall committed nine errors while SWOSU only had one.

It was the Zoey Sparks show in the second set. The Freshman outside hitter tallied five kills in the set, which were the first kills of her Bulldog career. The Saints put up a better fight in this one, but could not over come the multi-faceted SWOSU attack. Six different SWOSU players put away kills.

That balanced attack would continue into the third set to help the Bulldogs finish this one off. Seven different players recorded a kill and five different players contributed to a block in the third set to give SWOSU the match win.

The Bulldogs have three home games this week with only one day's worth of rest in between each and managed to come away with all three wins. They are now 9-1 in their last ten games.

SWOSU will hit the road next week for a trip to Arkadelphia to take on the two school's based there. A Thursday, October 7 match against Henderson State  at 6:30 pm will be immediately followed by a Friday, October 8 match against Ouachita Baptist at 4:00 pm.
