Lady Bulldogs Bounce Back with Rivalry Win

ALVA, Okla. – The SWOSU Women's Basketball team bounced back from their first loss of the season with an 87-77 win against rival Northwestern at the Percefull Fieldhouse in Alva.

The Lady Bulldogs started the game off by trading buckets with Northwestern for much of the first quarter, heading into the second down 23-22, but a 10-0 run highlighted by two big three-pointers from Maddie Sperle helped put SWOSU up by four at half. In the third, Northwestern took the lead early before SWOSU went on a 17-4 run – punctuated by a tough traditional three-point play from Makyra Tramble – that put the Lady Dawgs ahead for good.

Tramble (14) and Sperle (12) were joined in double figures by Karly Gore and Regan Crawford who both dropped career-highs with 19 and 15 points, respectively. Taber Beer knocked down her 100th career three-pointer in the game tied a career-high with six steals while Macy Gore had eight assists and remained perfect from the charity stripe on the season.

"It's hard to go on the road and we are a little bit shorthanded, but we battled," Head Coach Kelsi Musick said. 'I am just happy to have a day off tomorrow to get some rest before our next game on Thursday."

The Lady Bulldogs move to 7-1 on the season heading into a matchup against Oklahoma Baptist on Thursday night in Shawnee.
