WEATHERFORD, Okla. – Oklahoma Baptist scored 10 runs in the first three innings and raced past SWOSU for a 16-6 run-rule victory in seven innings on Tuesday at the Athletic Complex in Weatherford.
OBU scored three unearned runs in the top of the first before adding five in the second and two in the third before adding multiple runs in the fifth and sixth innings. SWOSU countered with six runs on eight hits, getting two apiece from
Alex Bedard,
Miguel Soto and
Daniel Davila. The Bulldogs scored one in the first and sixth innings while adding two runs during the third and seventh innings.
Chase Hamilton (0-2) was the first of five pitchers to take the mound for SWOSU and he took the loss after surrendering eight runs – five earned – on five hits in the first two innings.
SWOSU, now 10-8 on the year, is set to travel to Arkadelphia, Ark., this weekend for a three-game series at Ouachita.
