WEATHERFORD, Okla. – The SWOSU Lady Bulldogs snapped a three-game slide on Thursday evening as they defeated Southern Arkansas 103-85 at the Pioneer Cellular Event Center to avenge an earlier loss to the Muleriders in Magnolia.
After the teams played to a 21-all stalemate in the first quarter, SWOSU outscored SAU by five points in the second and third quarters and eight in the fourth to pull away for the victory. The 103 points by the Lady Bulldogs marks a season high and SWOSU had five different players score in double figures in the game.
Leading the way for SWOSU was freshman
Makyra Tramble, who nearly recorded a double-double as she put up 25 points in addition to nine rebounds and seven steals in 37 minutes of action.
Tyra Aska also had a big night with 24 points, five rebounds and five steals while
Taylor Hedrick (15),
Taber Beer (12) and
Regan Crawford (11) also reached double digits.
The victory improves SWOSU to 13-6 on the year and 8-5 in conference play heading into a matchup with Arkansas-Monticello on Saturday afternoon at the Pioneer Cellular Event Center.
