LUBBOCK, Texas – SWOSU Volleyball fell to 0-3 at the LCU Chap Classic after dropping a pair of matches against Dixie State and Texas-Permian Basin on Friday afternoon in Lubbock.
SWOSU (3-5) will close out the tournament on Saturday at 3:00 pm, taking on Black Hills State, a team that defeated the Dawgs in four sets last weekend at the Missouri Southern Invitational.

Friday's opener started with SWOSU taking the opening set, battling into extra points before
Maicee Morgan put away the final two points with kills to end it at 28-26. From that point on, SWOSU was unable to stop the Dixie State attack, which combined for 51 kills and just 11 attack errors over the final three sets as they came back to win the match.
SWOSU was led by 14 kills from Morgan, 10 from
Chezney Nielsen and eight from
Brylee Burroughs.
Allie Hoang posted a double-double with 37 assists and 10 digs while
Kaitlyn Dillon led the team with 21 digs.

The Bulldogs woes continued in the night cap as they dropped three straight sets but identical scores to UTPB, who controlled the match in every statistical category. SWOSU hit negative in the first set and combined for 16 kills and 11 errors in the final two while UTPB hit .309 for the match with just eight total attack errors.
SWOSU was again led by Morgan with seven kills, while Burroughs and Gruden had four apiece. Dillon and Hoang had 10 digs apiece, while Hoang again doubled up with 17 assists.
