WEATHERFORD, Okla. – The University of Science & Arts of Oklahoma (USAO) scored four runs in the top of the 10th inning to claim an 11-7 non-conference victory over the SWOSU Baseball team on Tuesday afternoon at the SWOSU Athletic Complex.
SWOSU scored the first four runs of the game, putting three on the board in the bottom of the first inning.
Alex Bedard doubled and scored on an RBI single from
Chase Duncan, who came around to score along with
Rafael Villela on a two-run double off the bat of
Tanner Long. Making his first career start,
Tyler Carpenter doubled to lead off the second inning and came home to score an unearned run in the second inning, putting the Dawgs up 4-0 after two complete.
The next six runs went the way of the visitors, who plated two in the third and one in the fourth before taking their first lead with three runs on four hits in the top of the eighth inning. After being kept off the scoreboard for five innings, SWOSU got going again with an RBI single from Carpenter highlighting a three-run eighth that put the Dawgs back on top 7-6.
USAO scored one run in the ninth to force extra innings, where they teed off for four runs on five hits to take a commanding lead. SWOSU would load the bases with two walks and one hit by pitch, but a groundout ended the game with a trio of runners on.

Tyler Carpenter had two hits apiece to lead the Bulldogs offensively while they used five different players on the mound during Tuesday's game.
Brant Millerborg started and had the longest outing with four hits and three runs allowed in 4.0 innings.
John Laureano (0-1) took the loss after entering for the 10th inning and allowing five runs on four hits.
SWOSU Baseball (16-19) is back at home this weekend, hosting Oklahoma Baptist for Senior Weekend at the Athletic Complex.
