WEATHERFORD, Okla. – Bulldog Softball opened up a four-game Great American Conference series against Harding on Friday, but it was the Lady Bisons who prevailed in both contests after SWOSU left a combined 17 runners on base during the doubleheader.
 
SWOSU (11-26, 10-18 GAC) and Harding will conclude the series with another doubleheader on Saturday, beginning at 11:00 am.

Harding broke a 2-all tie with a two-out RBI single in the top of the sixth inning and held on for the win in the series opener. SWOSU scored single runs in the third on an RBI single from Hannah Morris and fourth with a sacrifice fly from Allyson Gafford, but a two-out, two-run home run from Harding in the fourth left the two teams deadlocked after four innings.
 
SWOSU left one runner on base in each of the final six innings and dropped the game despite having a 7-5 advantage in hits. Alisa Friesen (4-10) allowed three runs on just five hits in the complete-game effort.

SWOSU's inability to convert scoring chances was further on display in the nightcap as they stranded 11 runners on base, including leaving the bases loaded in both the fifth and sixth innings as they attempted to make a comeback. Harding scored twice in the first inning, once in the fourth and once in the sixth before putting two insurance runs in the top of the seventh.
 
The Bulldogs had eight hits in the game and they drew four walks, but were limited to one run, which came as Morris drew a bases-loaded walk with two outs in the sixth. Kaytlin Donaldson (5-13) allowed six runs on nine hits, but suffered the loss in a complete-game effort.
