WEATHERFORD, Okla. – SWOSU Softball finished off their four-game Great American Conference series with a split on Friday against Henderson State and the Bulldogs are now 10-19 overall and 8-10 in conference play.
SWOSU returns to action on Tuesday, when they head to Alva for a midweek rivalry doubleheader at Northwestern Oklahoma State.
Game 1: Henderson State 6, SWOSU 5

With one run in the first and two runs in the second inning, SWOSU held an early advantage on HSU until the third inning, when the Reddies scored twice to make it 3-2. Henderson State would tie the game in the fourth and before SWOSU pushed the lead back to 5-3 in the fifth. With three runs in the sixth inning HSU took the lead and held on for the victory.
Amanda Moreno was 2-for-5 with two RBI and two run scored while
Hannah Morris went 2-for-4 with one run RBI and one run scored.
Kaytlin Donaldson also had an RBI hit in the game while
Sidney Kirk was responsible for the Dawgs sixth and final hit.
Donaldson got the start and lasted three innings in the circle before giving way to
Miranda Grover (2-3), who allowed three runs on four hits over the final four innings.
Game 2: SWOSU 3, Henderson State 2

As they've done now in four straight conference doubleheaders, SWOSU responded to win the second game and pick up a split in the series. The Dawgs did that despite HSU striking first with a run in the first inning, to which SWOSU responded with two runs in the bottom of the third.
With the game tied in the bottom of the sixth,
Samantha Householder tripled and scored on a sac fly from Donaldson for the game-deciding run. SWOSU worked around one hit in the top of the seventh and recorded the final out with the potential tying run on second base.
Alisa Friesen (3-7) picked up the win with a complete game effort in the circle, allowing two runs on six hits and two strikeouts.
