MAGNOLIA, Ark. – SWOSU Baseball picked up a split at Southern Arkansas on Sunday, then won the series finale on Monday afternoon in Magnolia to finish off a 2-1 series victory over the #9 Muleriders.
SWOSU (11-9, 7-5 GAC) is scheduled to return to action on Wednesday afternoon, hosting Central Oklahoma at the Athletic Complex.

Chase Duncan and
Tyler Benge had two hits apiece and a combined four runs scored in the series opener on Sunday. Benge had an RBI hit, as did
Rafael Villela and
Sawyer Toole while the Bulldogs also took advantage of five errors by the Muleriders and scored four runs in the final two innings to overcome a 4-3 deficit for the victory.
Brant Millerborg (1-1) entered in relief of
Cooper Cantwell in the sixth and allowed just one hit with five strikeouts over the final four innings to earn the victory. Cantwell struck out six and allowed five hits and four runs over five innings of action.
Game 2: #9 SAU 6, SWOSU 5

SWOSU scored four runs in the fourth and one in the top of the seventh, but a three-run bottom half of the sixth inning lifted the Muleriders to the win in the seven-inning contest of the series.
Alex Bedard, Duncan and
Brady Burtner had two hits apiece in the game while
Robert Perea hit a two-run double in the fourth.
Three pitchers saw time for the Bulldogs, with
Dakota Jones getting the start and tossing 3.0 innings before giving way to
Haden Branch.
Gabe Jacobo (2-1) was the pitcher of record, taking the loss after allowing three runs on just one hit in the final 1.2 innings.
Game 3: SWOSU 14, #9 SAU 6

The Bulldogs got three-run home runs and five RBI apiece from
Alex Pimentel and
Tanner Long, which led the offense to 15 hits and 14 runs, one off the team's season high. Each team scored three runs in the third inning, but SWOSU scored four runs in the fifth and seven over the final four innings to put the Muleriders away. Pimentel and
Alex Bedard had four hits and four runs scored apiece, while Long was 2-for-5 with five RBI and two runs scored as 10 hits, 10 runs scored and 11 RBI came from the top three batters in the lineup.
Tyler Tuck (3-2) went 7.1 innings on the hill, allowing nine hits but limiting SAU to five earned runs while striking out three with just one walk.
Brant Millerborg and
Gabe Jacobo finished out the game by allowing two hits over the final 1.2 innings.
