DURANT, Okla. – SWOSU Baseball split a doubleheader at Southeastern Oklahoma State on Monday, which allowed the Savage Storm to claim the Great American Conference series 2-1.
The Bulldogs are now 7-6 on the year and 4-2 in league play heading into a non-conference matchup with Oklahoma Baptist at 2:00 pm on Tuesday in Weatherford.

The Bulldogs managed just two hits in the opener on Monday and didn't get on the scoreboard until a solo home run off the bat of
Chris Cloud in the top of the ninth inning. By that point, Southeastern already had control of the game after scoring all six of their runs in the bottom of the second inning.
Tyler Tuck (2-1) was untouched in each inning except the second, when Southeastern got all five hits and six runs against him while also taking advantage of a pair of SWOSU errors.

The Bulldogs put all five of their runs on the board in the second and third innings, building a big enough lead to hold off the Savage Storm despite three runs in the bottom of the seventh. All three of SWOSU's runs in the second inning were unearned after Southeastern committed two errors, which the Dawgs took advantage of with an RBI single from
Alex Pimentel.
Chase Duncan singled in the third to get aboard for
Tyler Benge, who cleared the bases with a home run down the left field line to make it 5-0.
SWOSU maintained that lead until the bottom of the seventh, when Southeastern hit two solo home runs and got two runners aboard with two outs in the inning.
Gabe Jacobo came on in relief and got the final two outs on a 6-4-3 double play that ended the game.
Dakota Jones (1-0) got the victory after allowing just two runs on eight hits over 6.1 innings of action before giving way to Jacobo, who picked up his first save of the season.
