Setting the Scene
• Lady Bulldog Basketball plays their final two home games of the fall semester this weekend as they welcome Oklahoma Christian and Southern Nazarene to the Pioneer Cellular Event Center
• SWOSU will face OC on Thursday night, marking the fifth straight season the teams have met as non-conference foes
• The Lady Dawgs have won the last three meetings against OC including a home-and-home sweep over the Eagles last season
• Great American Conference play resumes on Saturday afternoon when SWOSU hosts SNU, one of four teams to open the league schedule with a record of 2-0
• SWOSU has won five of the last six meetings against Southern Nazarene overall and six-of-seven at home since the Crimson Storm joined the GAC for the 2012-13 season
 
About the Opponent
Oklahoma Christian (2-3)
• The Eagles are 2-3 on the year with Lone Star Conference victories over Texas A&M-Kingsville and Texas A&M-International but they are 0-2 against GAC foes after suffering losses to Southeastern and Northwestern
• OC is averaging 63.0 points per game while opponents are scoring 69.2 points per contest against them and they're shooting 39.0% from the field on the year
• Katie Mayo leads the Eagles in scoring (12.0 ppg) and rebounding (6.8 rpg) while Maddison Collyer is also adding an average of 11.4 points per contest
 
Southern Nazarene (5-1, 2-0 GAC)
• The Crimson Storm have started the season 5-1 and they're now receiving votes in the WBCA Coaches Poll following a split at the San Antonio Classic, which included a close loss to #1 Lubbock Christian
• SNU has four players scoring 10 points per game or better, led by Sonia Sarda and Kennedy Gillette (11.8) and Alexus Jones (11.0)
• SNU is ranked second in the conference with a scoring defense of 58.2 points per game while they're putting up 67.2 points on average
 
SWOSU Notes
• The Lady Bulldogs bring a 33-game home winning streak into the weekend, the third-longest active such streak behind Lubbock Christian (67) and Drury (44)
Tyra Aska is ranked eighth in SWOSU history and 20th among active players in NCAA Division II with 1,303 career points and she's ranked third on the team with 10.2 points per game this season
• Aska and Bethany Franks are both currently tied for the school record with 180 career steals and they've helped SWOSU to rank third in the GAC with 12.6 steals per game this season
Maddie Sperle reached the 20-plateau for the third time this season at Cameron, finishing with 23 points on 8-of-11 shooting to up her team-leading average to 16.0 points per game
• The Lady Bulldogs have knocked down 66 three-pointers this season and they're leading the conference with 9.4 made three's per game
Taylor Hedrick reached double figures in scoring for the second time this season with 11 points against Cameron while also setting a new career-high with eight rebounds
Makyra Tramble was held to a season-low four points at Cameron, but she remains the Lady Dawgs second-leading scorer with 13.1 points per game for the year
Bethany Franks scored a season-high 16 points while also recording five rebounds and four steals at Cameron
• Franks has recorded at least three steals in six-of-seven games this season and she's currently leading the conference and ranked fifth in NCAA Division II with 3.9 steals per game
Lauren Ramey hit 3-of-6 field goal attempts and 3-of-4 free throws at Cameron to finish with nine points while matching a season-high with three steals
Taber Beer is averaging 8.4 points per game this season while ranking fifth in the conference with 4.7 assists per game
 
Looking Ahead
• SWOSU heads to Shawnee next Saturday (Dec. 14) to face Oklahoma Baptist in the final game of the fall semester
• Following a near three-week break, the Lady Bulldogs return to action in early January with a trip to Arkansas to face Arkansas-Monticello (Jan. 2) and Southern Arkansas (Jan. 4)
• The next home game for SWOSU will be on January 9th against Ouachita
