ALVA, Okla. – SWOSU Volleyball ran into a surging Northwestern Oklahoma State team on Thursday night and dropped a 3-0 decision to the Rangers at Percefull Fieldhouse.
The first two sets were hotly-contested, but the Rangers managed to pull ahead in each, winning 25-20 and 26-24 to take the commanding 2-0 lead. Behind that early momentum, Northwestern coasted in the third set and put the Dawgs away 25-12 to win the match.
SWOSU hit .129 for the match and they were blocked 12 times in the match while committing 10 unforced errors on their serves.
Maicee Morgan led the way offensively with 12 kills and three service aces while
Jenny Tackett added eight kills while hitting .103 for the match. Other leaders for the Dawgs were
Allie Hoang with 32 assists,
Kaitlyn Dillon with 14 digs and Tackett and
Brylee Burroughs with one block assist apiece.
With the loss, SWOSU falls from second place in the Great American Conference standings and they'll enter the final week of the season alone in third at 10-4 in league play. Next up for the Bulldogs is Senior Day at the Pioneer Cellular Event Center, which takes place next Tuesday (Nov. 12) evening against Southern Nazarene.
