SHAWNEE, Okla. – Bulldog Volleyball dropped a hotly-contested four-set match at Great American Conference leader Oklahoma Baptist on Thursday evening in Shawnee.
SWOSU dropped the first two sets, which featured several long rallies that went the way of the Bison, and went down 2-0 at intermission by scores of 25-17 and 25-18. The momentum turned in the third set as SWOSU put away 13 kills and hit .263 to pull away and win the set 25-20, but they were unable to sustain it as OBU put the match away 25-19 in the fourth, a set which saw four ties and three lead changes.
Emily Wood led the Bulldogs with a double-double of 12 kills and 13 digs while
Maicee Morgan added 11 kills on a night where SWOSU attacked with a .103 percentage that saw 44 kills on 183 attempts.
Allie Hoang had 37 assists and 13 digs while
Kaitlyn Dillon led her team with 22 digs and four players combined for two blocks on the night.
SWOSU (6-8, 2-2 GAC) will play their next three matches at home, a stretch that begins on Tuesday night (Oct. 8) as they host rival Northwestern Oklahoma State at 7:00 pm inside the Pioneer Cellular Event Center in Weatherford.
