WEATHERFORD, Okla. – An 85th minute goal from
Claire Torry was the difference as SWOSU Soccer defeated Ouachita 1-0 on Saturday morning at the SWOSU Athletic Complex.
SWOSU dominated the game offensively with 11 shots in each half, but they were unable to get one past the goalie until late. Ouachita was held without a shot opportunity in the first half and they had five in the second half, including three on goal. Torry scored her second goal of the season off an assist from
Sandra Nabweteme with just over five minutes to play on what was her fourth and final shot attempt of the match.
Kirstyn Dill made three stops while facing five shots on the day to earn her second consecutive shutout and third of the season.
The Bulldogs improve to 6-3-1 on the year with the win while remaining unblemished in Great American Conference play at 3-0-1. SWOSU returns to action on Thursday night (Oct. 17) in Shawnee against Oklahoma Baptist.
