Setting the Scene
- SWOSU Women's Basketball concludes a four-game home stand on Saturday afternoon as they put their 10-game win streak on the line against Southern Arkansas
- The matchup is set for 1:00 pm at the Pioneer Cellular Event Center in Weatherford, where the Lady Bulldogs have won 25 straight games dating back to February 11, 2017
- The Lady Dawgs enter the game following a 79-53 victory over Arkansas-Monticello on Thursday night, a game in which SWOSU used a 23-0 run spanning the first and second quarters to take control and never look back
- Southern Arkansas is the lone GAC team winless in conference play, entering Saturday's contest having lost eight straight and 0-5 in league games
- Saturday's game will feature the highest and lowest-scoring teams in the conference, with SWOSU leading the league with 83.6 points per game while SAU is ranked 12th with 55.9 points per contest
 
About the Opponent

- The Lady Muleriders are mired in an eight-game slide following their lone win of the season, a 77-37 victory over Southeastern Baptist College on November 13th

- SAU's leading scorer is Ariana Guinn, who is averaging 11.1 points per game while third-leading scorer Jerica Bell led the Lady Muleriders with 19 points on Thursday at Northwestern Oklahoma State

- With Thursday's win over Arkansas-Monticello, the Lady Bulldogs have now won 10 consecutive games, a feat they have now accomplished twice in the NCAA Division II era
- Last season, SWOSU won 15 straight games for their longest win streak since becoming an NCAA Division II institution prior to the 1997-98 season
- SWOSU also extended their home winning streak to 25 consecutive straight games, dating back to an 88-74 setback against East Central nearly two years ago
- Hailey Tucker was one rebound shy of recording a double-double against UAM, finishing with 22 points and nine rebounds to up her scoring average to 19.3 points per game for the year
- Bethany Franks scored six points on 3-of-6 shooting to go along with eight rebounds and she continues to lead the GAC with 9.4 rebounds per game
- Hayden Priddy chipped in 16 points and six rebounds against UAM and she's on the cusp of moving into the top five of the GAC's all-time scoring list
- Tyra Aska scored right at her average of 13.2 points per game, finishing with 13 points, seven rebounds and three assists in the win over Monticello on Thursday
- SWOSU currently leads the Great American Conference in scoring (83.6 ppg) and turnover margin (+10.7) while ranking second in three-pointers made with 95 (8.6 per game)
- Four different Lady Bulldogs have made 10 or more three-pointers so far this season, led by Priddy (25), Aska (19), Tucker (19) and Taylor Hedrick (10)
- For the second straight game, Dovile Strimaitye scored eight points in the win over Oklahoma Baptist while also grabbing a season-best nine rebounds
 
Looking Ahead
- Next weekend, the Lady Bulldogs open a four-game road trip with consecutive games in Arkadelphia, Ark., against Ouachita (Jan. 10) and Henderson State (Jan. 12)
- The following week sees SWOSU take in-state road trips to face Northwestern Oklahoma State (Jan. 17) in Alva and Southeastern Oklahoma State (Jan. 19) in Durant
