ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – SWOSU Softball dropped a pair of games to Henderson State by the exact same score on Saturday, falling 9-1 to the Reddies in both games of the doubleheader by run rule.
The teams will conclude their four-game Great American Conference series on Sunday, with a doubleheader set to begin at 1:00 pm in Arkadelphia.

SWOSU took the lead just three batters into the game on an RBI double off the bat of
Kinsey Skroh, but they would strand two batters to end the inning while Henderson State would go on to score in five of the six innings and end the game early via run rule.
HSU got two runs in the first before hitting home runs in the second, third and fourth innings to push the game to the brink of the run rule before
Kaytlin Donaldson sat the Reddies down in order in the fifth inning. An error by SWOSU allowed a leadoff runner in the bottom of the sixth and HSU scored the walkoff run with two outs in the inning.
The Bulldogs managed six hits in the game, including a 2-for-3 effort from
Amanda Moreno, who also scored SWOSU's lone run.
Rileigh Ricken (3-14) took the decision in the circle after allowing eight runs on seven hits in 3.2 innings of action.

Trailing 2-1 heading into the fifth inning, SWOSU allowed seven runs in the bottom of the fifth to give the Reddies their second run-rule victory of the afternoon. Henderson State opened the scoring with a solo homer in the second, but SWOSU got the game evened up with an RBI double off the bat of
Allyson Gafford in the top of the fourth. An error by the Bulldogs in the bottom of the inning, however, allowed HSU to go back on top 2-1 after four complete.
In the fifth inning, SWOSU got back-to-back two-out singles from
Hannah Morris and
Amanda Moreno before a groundout ended the threat and brought the Reddies back to the plate. A leadoff home run sparked a seven-run inning on seven hits as Henderson State pulled away and ended the game two innings early.
Gafford finished 2-for-2 with a double and RBI as SWOSU again recorded six hits in the game. Kaitlin Donaldson (0-3) suffered the defeat after allowing four runs on four hits in 4.0 innings of work.
