WEATHERFORD, Okla. – Southeastern Oklahoma State hit 17 three-pointers to run away with a 96-69 victory over SWOSU on Thursday evening at the Pioneer Cellular Event Center in Weatherford.
SWOSU started hot, getting three-pointers from
Nick Shoemaker,
Jefkins Agyeman-Budu and
Charles Beauregard, Jr., in the opening minutes to build an early 11-3 lead. The lead would be short-lived, however, after Southeastern answered with 19-2 run over the next six minutes to take a 22-13 lead that they would not relinquish. The Bulldogs got back within one at 22-21 with 7:30 to play in the half, but Southeastern scored the next 11 points and built their lead up to 15, 49-34, at halftime. The Savage Storm would maintain a lead of at least 10 points the entire second half and coasted to the victory.
Charles Beauregard, Jr., led the way for SWOSU with 27 points despite a poor shooting performance, going 7-for-20 from the field and 1-for-6 from three-point range. He did the majority of his damage from the stripe, knocking down 12-of-15 free throw attempts.
Nick Shoemaker chipped in 14 points along with five rebounds while
Jefkins Agyeman-Budu had 11 points and seven rebounds.
SWOSU (3-21, 1-17 GAC) heads to Ada on Saturday to face East Central, with tipoff set for 3:00 pm.
