WEATHERFORD, Okla. – Three SWOSU Soccer players have been selected to the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) All-Central Region Teams, which were released Wednesday afternoon.
Alimata Rabo and
Sandra Nabweteme received first team honors while
Erica Brunet was named to the second team.
Rabo earns her third consecutive First Team D2CCA All-Region selection after another outstanding season. She concluded the season with a team high 24 goals, which placed her fourth in Division II and also registered 11 assists totaling 59 points on the year. Rabo also received Great American Conference First-Team honors for the third-straight season, and was selected the GAC Offensive Player of the Week four times throughout the season.
Nabweteme picks up her third D2CCA All-Region selection and her second first team selection in her career. After a second team selection a year ago, Nabweteme returns to the first team after a season where she put 21 goals past opposing keepers and ranked second in Division II racking up a team high 15 assists on the year. She was also named to the All-GAC First Team and was named a GAC Offensive Player of the Week during the season.
Brunet picks up her second D2CCA All-Region honors of her career after a solid senior season on the back line for the Bulldogs. She anchored a defensive effort for SWOSU that held teams to under two goals all year and allowed just 11.9 shots a game, while helping produce eight shutouts this season. Brunet was also named a First Team All-GAC member and earned a GAC Defensive Player of the Week award this season.
SWOSU finished the year with a 13-5-1 record and will bring back Rabo and Nabweteme for the 2019 season.
