Soccer Victorious on Senior Day

Box Score

WEATHERFORD, Okla. – SWOSU's Memory Phiri made her Senior Day a memorable one, scoring two goals to lift her team past Ouachita by a final count of 4-1. Phiri was one of 11 Bulldog seniors to be honored in a Senior Day ceremony prior to the match.

The Bulldogs would get on the board early in the match as Phiri put her first goal off an assist by Alimata Rabo during the fifth minute. The two teams would then be locked in a defensive battle for the remainder of the half as neither side would allow many opportunities, allowing SWOSU to carry a 1-0 lead into the halftime locker room.

The defensive fight would not last long into the second half, as Phiri would put her second goal of the game into the back of net in the 52nd minute from Rabo for her second assist of the game. Rabo added a goal to her stat line in the 56th minute from a free kick off the foot of Sandra Nabweteme. Ouachita put their first points on the board in the 58th minute from a free kick that ricocheted off the top of the cross bar to cut SWOSU's lead to 3-1. Hannah Burks answered with her second goal of the season in the 60th minute to put the Bulldogs up 4-1. SWOSU would hold the three point advantage the remainder of the match to come out victorious.

The Bulldogs will return to action on Thursday, October 25, at 3:00 pm in Shawnee.
