Setting the Scene
- No. 17/19 SWOSU Women's Basketball will take their four game winning streak on the road to Durant against Southeastern on the heels of a perfect 4-for-4 homestand which included three conference games that stretched into the New Year
- The Lady Bulldogs will look to avenge last season's 89-69 rout at the hands of the Savage Storm in Durant
- SWOSU has lost four consecutive times in Durant dating back to the 2013-14 season, and is now just 2-4 on the road against Southeastern since the beginning of the GAC
- Following Southeastern and Arkansas Tech losses on Thursday night, the Lady Bulldogs now hold a two game lead in the conference standings by sporting a perfect 7-0 slate in league play
- Tipoff against the Savage Storm is set for the usual 1:00 pm from inside Bloomer Sullivan Arena
 
The Opponent
Southeastern (7-6, 5-3 GAC)
- After starting the season 6-2, the Savage Storm have lost four of their last five coming into their matchup with SWOSU
- SE sits fourth in the GAC standings, sporting a 5-3 record in league play
- Southeastern ranks second in the league in scoring defense, holding opposing offenses to just 63.0 points per game
- Offensively, SE is led by Emem David at 11.2 points and 9.1 rebounds per game after their leading scorer Katie Webb suffered an injury in their ninth game of the season

The Coaches
SWOSU: Kelsi Musick (142-102, 9th season)
- Two-time GAC Coach of the Year, winning back-to-back honors for the '11-12 and '12-13 seasons and she has now led the Lady Bulldogs to four 20-win seasons after a 20-10 finish a year ago
- Musick has coached two All-Americans and 18 All-GAC selections, including two Player of the Years (Darcie Dick, 2012 / Hailey Tucker, 2017) and one Freshman of the Year (Hailey Tucker, 2016)
- Musick has led SWOSU to four GAC Tournament Championship games with two GAC Tournament Championships (2012, 2014) and two NCAA Division II Tournament appearances (2013, 2014) to her credit
- In nine seasons at SWOSU, Musick has a career record of 142-102, including a mark of 9-9 against SE all-time
 
SE: Darin Grover (193-156; 13th season)
- Coach Grover was the 2014-15 GAC Coach of the Year after leading his squad to a 20-10 record and GAC Tournament semifinal appearance
- Grover has led Southeastern to the NCAA Division II national tournament twice and amassed more than 240 wins between his time at Southeastern and NEO (JC) 
 
Checking the Standings
- Upsets happened around the league on Thursday night, as Oklahoma Baptist took down Southeastern 90-81 and Henderson State handled Arkansas Tech 75-52
- There is a three-way tie for seventh place in the current GAC standings, with Oklahoma Baptist, Northwestern, and East Central all battling with 3-4 league slates
- ECU has now lost four straight games, having dropped from the top half of the league to the lower half

SWOSU Notes
- Bethany Franks against East Central set a new career high in rebounding in the first half alone when she grabbed 12 boards in the game's first 20 minutes and ended with 17 for the game
- Hailey Tucker finished with her second straight double-double and fifth overall of the season after tallying 20 points and grabbing a career high 14 rebounds
- Tucker has now hit multiple three-point shots in four straight games after shooting 2-for-6 from beyond the arc against ECU
- Taylor Hedrick also set a career best after scoring 20 points against SE -- 14 of which came in the first half
- Taber Beer gave SWOSU a lift by knocking down a trio of threes for her season high
- After compiling 90 points against ECU, SWOSU upped its scoring average to an NCAA Division II fifth best 84.9 points per game
- Offense has proven to be SWOSU's best defense, as the Lady Dawgs rank last in the GAC by allowing opposing teams to score 76.1 points per game
- Despite the above bullet, the Lady Bulldogs are 12-1 on the season and hold a +8.8 scoring margin against teams
- Defensively, SWOSU does force opponents into turnovers and is very active in the steals category -- winning the turnover battle 215-187 and forcing 119 steals while opposing teams have had just 81 steals

Looking Ahead
- Next week will feature a busy slate of action with three conference games on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday
SWOSU will take on Northwestern and Southern Nazarene at home to begin the week and Oklahoma Baptist on the road to wrap up the week
