Setting the Scene
- SWOSU Women's Basketball (14-6, 10-4 GAC) puts its season best four-game winning streak on the line looking for five-straight against Southern Nazarene on Thursday
- The Lady Dawgs are coming off of a 2-0 week against Arkansas schools, collecting two GAC season series sweeps in the process - the first two of the year
- This is the first matchup between these two teams this season after weather cancelled the first meeting back on January 14
- The Dawgs currently hold the longest win streak in the conference at four games, one better than Harding's three
- In the GAC era, the Lady Bulldogs are undefeated in Bethany, sporting a 4-0 record
- Overall in the GAC era, SWOSU leads the Crimson Storm 7-1 including having won the previous three contests against SNU

The Opponent
Southern Nazarene (9-9, 6-8 GAC)
- SNU comes into Thursday in sixth place in the GAC standings, a half-game behind Henderson State and a half game in front of Arkansas-Monticello having played one less game due to the cancellation against SWOSU earlier in the season
- The Crimson Storm lost back-to-back contests last week against the league's top-two teams: Harding and Arkansas Tech
- Abby Boyd leads the SNU offense, averaging 14.6 points per game, followed by the only other double-digit scorer Adrienne Berry at 13.0 points per game

The Coaches
SWOSU: Kelsi Musick (124-97, 8th season)
- Two-time GAC Coach of the Year, winning back-to-back honors for the 2011-12 and 2012-13 seasons and she has led the Lady Bulldogs to three 20-win seasons
- Musick has coached one All-American and 15 All-GAC selections, including one Player of the Year (Darcie Dick, 2012) and one Freshman of the Year (Hailey Tucker, 2016)
- Musick has led SWOSU to the GAC Tournament Championship games with two GAC Tournament Championships (2012, 2014) and two NCAA Division II Tournament appearances (2013, 2014) to her credit
- In eight seasons at SWOSU, Musick has a career record of 124-97, including a mark of 7-1 against SNU

Southern Nazarene: Derek Dorris (56-70, 5th season)
- After starting his first year at SNU at 4-7, the Dorris and the Crimson Storm went 17-3 over the final 20 games and won the NCCAA National Championship
- The SNU alumni came back to SNU after spending the last two seasons at Southmoore High School where he was named the 2011-12 Mid-State Conference Coach of the Year

Checking the Standings
- Harding sits atop the standings with a 14-1 conference record and as the only team so far to clinch a berth in the GAC Tournament
- Arkansas Tech is 12-3 in the GAC, followed by SWOSU at 10-4 and Southeastern at 10-5
- Henderson is below the .500 mark at 7-8 good enough for fifth, a half game in front of Southern Nazarene who is also a half game up on a group of teams who are tied for seventh
- Spots seven through 10 are all even with 6-9 records, battling for the two final postseason spots: UAM, OUA, ECU and NWOSU are all tied with four weeks left to play
- OBU and SAU round out the standings with 3-10 marks
