Setting the Scene
- Lady Bulldog Basketball concludes their Great American Conference road trip to Arkadelphia, Ark., on Saturday afternoon against Ouachita
- SWOSU has won two straight games against the Tigers and they bring a three-game win streak into the contest after taking down Henderson State 85-80 on Thursday night
- Ouachita comes into the contest on a three-game winning streak after they defeated Northwestern Oklahoma State 101-92 on Thursday evening
- In five meetings at Bill Vining Arena as GAC foes, SWOSU has a 3-2 record against Ouachita with three of those five games decided by fewer than 10 points
- With their victory on Thursday, SWOSU moved into a tie for second place in the league standings at 4-1, one game behind 5-0 Harding and one game ahead of Ouachita and Southeastern Oklahoma State at 3-2

- The Tigers defeated Northwestern Oklahoma State on Thursday to move to 3-2 in league play, a mark that has them tied for fifth in the standings currently
- Ouachita has won three straight games, defeating Blue Mountain College and Central Baptist College during the holiday break
- Three players are averaging better than 10.0 points per game for Ouachita, led by Alivia Huell (12.0 ppg), Madison Brittain (11.9 ppg) and reigning GAC Player of the Week Chasidee Owens (10.2 ppg)

SWOSU: Kelsi Musick (118-94, 8th season)
- Two-time GAC Coach of the Year, winning back-to-back honors for the 2011-12 and 2012-13 seasons and she has led the Lady Bulldogs to three 20-win seasons
- Musick has coached one All-American and 15 All-GAC selections, including one Player of the Year (Darcie Dick, 2012) and one Freshman of the Year (Hailey Tucker, 2016)
- Musick has led SWOSU to the GAC Tournament Championship games with two GAC Tournament Championships (2012, 2014) and two NCAA Division II Tournament appearances (2013, 2014) to her credit
- In eight seasons at SWOSU, Musick has a career record of 118-94, including a mark of 8-3 against Ouachita
 
Ouachita: Garry Crowder (325-265, 22nd season)
- All-time winningest coach at Ouachita, where he has coached the Lady Tigers for 21 seasons, including a school-record 23 wins in 2008-09
- His teams have been ranked or receiving votes in the Division II Top 25 11 times and they've set a new school record for victories in a season four times
 
Checking the Standings
- After defeating East Central on Thursday, Harding remains unblemished and atop the GAC standings with a 5-0 conference mark
- SWOSU handed Henderson State their first conference setback of the season, dropping the Reddies into a three-way tie for second with the Lady Bulldogs and Arkansas Tech
- Saturday's opponent, Ouachita, is one game behind the second-place tie and sharing fifth place in the standings with Southeastern
- Northwestern Oklahoma State is in seventh place at 2-3 while five teams sit tied for eighth place with a 1-4 conference record

SWOSU Notes
- After starting the season 2-2, the Lady Bulldogs have won six of their last seven games to move to 8-3 on the year and within one game of first place in the GAC at 4-1
- Tyra Aska set a new career-high by hitting 5-of-8 three-pointers on Thursday at Henderson State, matching her season total of three-pointers made in the first 10 games of the year
- Aska finished with 23 points, improving her scoring average to 13.0 points per game, which ties Hayden Priddy for the second-best scoring total on the team
- Whitney Dunn recorded her second straight double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds in 24 minutes of action at Henderson State
- Hailey Tucker had 18 points and five rebounds at HSU and she remains the GAC's leading scorer at 18.2 points per game while ranking second in rebounds with 9.3 per game
- Savannah Gray pulled down a career-high 10 rebounds against Henderson State and finished two points shy of her first career double-double
- Hayden Priddy scored 11 points on Thursday, marking her fifth straight game with 10 or more points and she's had at least two assists in each game this season
- SWOSU has the third-best field goal percentage defense in the GAC (36.2%) and they will face the second-best shooting team in the conference in Ouachita (43.5%) on Saturday
