EDMOND, Okla. – The SWOSU Volleyball team faced their stiffest test of the young season on Friday night, matching up with the No. 7-ranked team in NCAA Division II, Central Oklahoma, at Hamilton Field House. The Bulldogs had glimpses of success against UCO, but it was the Bronchos who prevailed in straight sets by scores of 25-12, 25-16, 25-13.

Points were hard to come by for the Bulldogs, who had 19 kills against 16 hitting errors in the match and finished with a .034 hitting percentage. Carly Zak did the bulk of the damage while facing a stout UCO defense, finishing with 10 kills and three blocks (one solo, two assist) while hitting .167 for the match. Kelsi Schmidtberger was the only other player with more than two kills, getting four and hitting .062.

SWOSU did have success at the net, finishing with six blocks, including a team-best four (one solo, three assist) from Paige Holt, who added two kills in the match. UCO had a significant advantage in digs, 46-to-29, with Kaitlyn Dillon recording a team-best nine.

The Bulldogs, now 1-7 on the year, look to rebound on Saturday as they close out the GAC-MIAA Crossover in Shawnee facing Emporia State (11 am) and Missouri Western (5 pm).
