SWOSU’s Series Opener at Harding Suspended

SEARCY, Ark. – Travel issues for the SWOSU Softball team led to a late arrival in Searcy on Friday and the late start allowed just one game of the scheduled doubleheader to be finished. Harding won the first game, but SWOSU leads Game 2, 6-5 at the conclusion of four innings. That game, along with the originally scheduled doubleheader, will be played on Saturday beginning at noon.

Harding 9, SWOSU 1 (5 inn.)
Box Score

Harding scored the first eight runs and held SWOSU to just two hits over the first four innings before winning the game by run-rule with a walk off home run in the fifth inning. The Bulldogs got three of their five hits in the contest in the top of the fifth, pushing across the lone run on an RBI single from Taya Haney in the inning.

Miranda West was 2-for-2 to lead the Bulldogs offensively. Taylor Eaves (6-11) took the loss after allowing seven runs on nine hits in 3.0 innings of work. Rileigh Ricken was in the circle for the final two innings, giving up two runs on two hits with one strikeout.
