SWOSU Slowed in Series Opener against Reddies

WEATHERFORD, Okla. – SWOSU totaled just four hits against Henderson State on Friday and they left nine runners on base in a 5-0 defeat against the Reddies.
 
Henderson State scored single runs in the first and third innings before breaking the margin open with three runs on a pair of home runs in the sixth inning to make it 5-0. SWOSU had runners on base each inning from the second to the fifth along with two runners on in the seventh but the game ended on a flyout with the bases loaded and the Dawgs were shut out for just the second time this season.
 
SWOSU starter Jon Chidester (5-3) suffered his second straight defeat on the mound, allowing five runs on eight hits in 7.2 innings of work. Joel Baxley was the lone Bulldog to have multiple hits in the game with two of SWOSU's four hits on the afternoon.
 
The loss drops SWOSU to 18-11 (10-6 GAC) on the year heading into a noon doubleheader against the Reddies on Saturday afternoon at the Athletic Complex.
