Setting the Stage
- Lady Bulldog basketball puts their second-longest winning streak of the season on the line on Thursday night against the team that ended their previous best win streak, Southeastern Oklahoma State
- SWOSU dropped an 82-72 contest to Southeastern on January 20th in Durant, ending a nine-game winning streak that spanned almost a month and a half during December and January
- SWOSU leads the series against Southeastern 6-4 since the beginning of the Great American Conference, but the Savage Storm have won two straight meetings and three of the last four in the past two seasons
- The Lady Bulldogs have won all four meetings against Southeastern in Weatherford in the GAC era, including a 77-71 victory last season at the Pioneer Cellular Event Center
- SWOSU enters the game on a four-game winning streak, the longest such streak among GAC schools while Southeastern had an eight-game win streak snapped on Monday night against East Central
- Thursday night's game is Senior Night at the Pioneer Cellular Event Center and SWOSU seniors Korina Chapman, Janae Coffee, Nina Gregory, Jessica Penner, McKinsey Schumpert and Jennifer Williams will be honored prior to tipoff
 
The Opponent
Southeastern Oklahoma State (12-12, 10-8 GAC)
- Had won eight straight games before suffering a 70-60 setback against East Central on their home floor Monday evening
- Their winning streak clinched the Savage Storm a spot in the GAC Tournament next month and thye've moved into a share of fifth place in the league standings at 10-8
- Southeastern ranks sixth in the league in scoring offense, averaging 70.4 points per game while limiting their opponents to 64.9 points per contest
- One of the top shooting teams in the conference, ranking third in free throw shooting (72.8%), third in field goal shooting (42.2%) and second in three-point percentage (35.2%)
- Led in scoring by Olivia Potter, who averages 12.9 points per game but has not been the Savage Storm's leading scorer in any of the past four games
- Kaylie Baxter (11.5 ppg) and Rachel Wallace (11.0 ppg) are their other top scoring threats and Southeastern's top two rebounders
- SE's Taylor Richards ranks second among players in the conference with 109 assists, and average of 4.5 per game
 
The Coaches
SWOSU: Kelsi Musick (106-88; 7th season)
- Two-time GAC Coach of the Year has been the model of consistency, winning GAC Tournament titles in two of the last four years and earning back-to-back NCAA Division II National Tournaments during the 2012-13 and 2013-14 seasons
- Earned her 100th victory as head coach of the Lady Bulldogs on January 18th, 2016 against Northwestern Oklahoma State
- A great developer of talent, Musick has coached one All-American and 12 All-GAC selections, including one Player of the Year recipient
- Musick has also spent time as an assistant coach at Fresno State, where they won two Western Athletic Conference regular season and tournament titles, as well as qualified for the NCAA Division I National Tournament in the 2008-09 season
- Has a record of 6-8 against Southeastern Oklahoma State as the head coach of the Lady Bulldogs, including a 4-0 mark against the Savage Storm in Weatherford since the beginning of GAC play in 2011-12
 
Southeastern Oklahoma State: Darin Grover (168-136; 11th season)
- Named the 2014-15 GAC Coach of the Year after leading his squad to a 20-10 record and GAC Tournament semifinal appearance
- Has led Southeastern to the NCAA Division II national tournament twice and amassed more than 230 career wins between his time at Southeastern and NEO

Last Time Out
- SWOSU Trailed by seven points at intermission, but outscored Northwestern Oklahoma State 51-30 after the break to defeat the Rangers 79-65 on Monday night
- Jennifer Williams scored 11 points in the third quarter, including a three-pointer late in the period that gave SWOSU a 52-50 lead heading into the fourth
- Williams and Hayden Priddy scored 17 points apiece to lead the Lady Dawgs while Janae Coffee scored 14 points and grabbed eight rebounds

- SWOSU will honor six seniors prior to tipoff of Thursday night's game against Southeastern Oklahoma State:
      - Korina Chapman has played in 50 games, making 28 starts the past two seasons and she currently ranks fifth in career blocked shots with 73
      - Janae Coffee is the reigning GAC Player of the Week and has made the most of her lone season with SWOSU, ranking third on the team in scoring (11.0 ppg) and third in the GAC in rebounding (9.4 rpg)
      - Nina Gregory has played in 29 games for the Lady Bulldogs the past two years, scoring a career-high 19 points earlier this season at Southern Arkansas
      - Jessica Penner is the longest tenured member of the SWOSU senior class and a two-time GAC Player of the Week who currently ranks tied for 2nd in career offensive rebounds (207), 3rd in field goal percentage (63.2%) and 8th in overall rebounds (535)
      - McKinsey Schumpert has been a member of the team for three seasons, spending her first season as a student assistant, and she's played in 14 games the past two seasons
      - Jennifer Williams has averaged 9.5 points per game over the past two seasons and she's currently scored 10 or more points in five straight games

- The Lady Bulldogs conclude their season with three straight road contests, beginning on Saturday at Oklahoma Baptist
