Setting the Stage
- Coming off a big road victory on Thursday night, the Lady Bulldog basketball team returns home to the Pioneer Cellular Event Center for Route 66 Rivalry action against Southern Nazarene
- SWOSU is 10-3 since January 1st, including a 77-65 victory over the Crimson Storm last month in Bethany
- The Lady Bulldogs are 6-1 against Southern Nazarene as conference foes, but SNU left Weatherford victorious in their last visit in December 2014
- Thursday night's victory kept the Lady Bulldogs tied for third place in the GAC standings with Southern Arkansas, two games behind Harding in second place
- Southern Nazarene picked up their fourth conference victory of the season on Thursday, but they are still four games out of the final spot in the GAC Tournament
- The Lady Dawgs have won 10 of their last 11 games at home after starting the season 0-4 at the Pioneer Cellular Event Center
 
The Opponent
Southern Nazarene (5-14, 4-12 GAC)
- Defeated Northwestern Oklahoma State 71-65 on Thursday night in Alva, snapping a six-game losing streak
- Ranked ninth in the league in scoring, averaging 66.8 points per game while allowing opponents to score 74.8 points per game for the second-worst scoring margin in the conference
- Second among GAC teams -- trailing only SWOSU -- in blocked shots with 80, an average of 4.2 per game
- Three of their five victories this season have come on the road and they have two wins in their last five road outings
- Led by Abby Boyd, the fifth-leading scorer in the GAC with an average of 17.3 points per game, but she was limited to 14 points in their first meeting with SWOSU
- No other players average better than 10.0 points per game with Rachel Doerneman (9.9 ppg), Adrienne Berry (9.5 ppg) and Danielle Gaddis (8.9 ppg) as their other top scoring options
 
The Coaches
SWOSU: Kelsi Musick (104-88; 7th season)
- Two-time GAC Coach of the Year has been the model of consistency, winning GAC Tournament titles in two of the last four years and earning back-to-back NCAA Division II National Tournaments during the 2012-13 and 2013-14 seasons
- Earned her 100th victory as head coach of the Lady Bulldogs on January 18th, 2016 against Northwestern Oklahoma State
- A great developer of talent, Musick has coached one All-American and 12 All-GAC selections, including one Player of the Year recipient
- Musick has also spent time as an assistant coach at Fresno State, where they won two Western Athletic Conference regular season and tournament titles, as well as qualified for the NCAA Division I National Tournament in the 2008-09 season
- Has a record of 6-1 against Southern Nazarene as the head coach of the Lady Bulldogs, including a 2-1 mark against the Crimson Storm in Weatherford
 
Southern Nazarene: Derek Dorris (45-56; 4th season)
- Became the 10th coach in SNU women's basketball history prior to the 2012-13 season, which ended in an NCCAA National Championship for the Crimson Storm
- Returned to his alma mater as the head coach two seasons as the head coach at Southmoore HS and also spent time as the head coach at Bethany HS
- Amassed more than 150 wins as a prep basketball coach

Last Time Out
- Hailey Tucker scored a game-high 30 points to pace her Lady Bulldog squad past East Central 74-71 on Thursday night, their first win in Ada since 2013
- SWOSU ended the first half on a 16-4 run to take a seven-point lead to the break, one they would extend to 10 points, 65-55, after three quarters
- The Lady Bulldogs scored just nine points in the fourth quarter, but they held off ECU as the Tigers missed three late three-point attempts
 
SWOSU Notes
- SWOSU's scoring offense of 79.5 points per game ranks second in the GAC and 13th in NCAA Division II this season and it would rank fifth in school history for single-season scoring average
- Hailey Tucker is averaging 29.3 points and 9.7 rebounds per game over the past three outings, including 46% (15-for-33) shooting from beyond the three-point line
- With two offensive rebounds on Thursday, Jessica Penner now has 201 in her career, making her the third SWOSU player of the NCAA Division II era to reach that milestone: Sumiya Darden, 226 (2010-12) and Kayla Horn, 207 (2002-06)
- Janae Coffee added to her double-double count on Thursday with her seventh of the season, and fifth in the past six games, by totaling 12 points and 10 rebounds against ECU
- With four triples at ECU, Tucker has now hit 66 three-point attempts this season, the most among freshman in NCAA Division II and the sixth-most in a single season in SWOSU history
- In addition to scoring prowess, the Lady Bulldogs lead NCAA Division II in defensive rebounds per game (35.0) and rank second in total rebounds per game (48.2)
- Since joining the starting lineup three games ago, Hayden Priddy is averaging 16.0 points, 6.3 assists and 6.0 rebounds per game
- Kylie Franz has 15 assists and two turnovers to her credit in the past three games, helping her raise her assist:turnover ratio to 3:2:1, a mark that ranks her among the top five in NCAA Division II

- SWOSU plays four of their final five games away from home, beginning with rivalry action at Northwestern Oklahoma State on Monday in Alva
