Oklahoma Christian Snaps SWOSU Win Streak

Box Score (html)

EDMOND, Okla. – SWOSU Women's Basketball had their three-game winning streak snapped by Oklahoma Christian, falling 94-77 Thursday night after fourth quarter woes in Edmond. Tied with OC at 60-60 with 1:15 left to play in the third quarter, the Lady Eagles exploded to score the final five points in the quarter and went on to outscore the Lady Dawgs 29-17 in the final 10 minutes to collect the win.

The Lady Bulldogs built a 44-39 halftime lead thanks to the efforts down low of Whitney Dunn who had 12 points in the paint in the half and Savannah Gray's ability to stretch the defense after knocking down 4-of-5 from three-point land.

After five ties and lead changes in the third quarter, Oklahoma Christian closed out the period scoring 11 out of the final 13 points on three shots beyond the arc and a last-second buzzer beater to give them a five-point margin to begin the final quarter.

In the fourth quarter, the hot-shooting Lady Eagles continued their momentum from the previous quarter that extended their lead to as many as 19 after shooting 50% (8-of-16) from the field. Despite scoring 17 points in the last 10 minutes, SWOSU didn't break double digits in the period until the 2:40 mark after turning the ball over six times. The Lady Bulldogs sent OC to the line 13 times and the Lady Eagles were able to knock down 11 of them to keep the game out of reach.

Hayden Priddy ended as SWOSU's high scorer on the night with 15 while adding three rebounds and two assists. Hailey Tucker posted her third double-double of the season after scoring 14 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Gray finished with 14 points on 4-of-7 (57%) from the three-point line and Dunn rounded out the Dawgs' double digit scorers with 13 and six rebounds.

SWOSU will look to bounce back against the reigning NCAA Division II National Champion Lubbock Christian on Saturday inside Pioneer Cellular Event Center at 1:00 pm.
