Setting the Scene
- SWOSU Women's Basketball (5-2, 3-1 GAC) takes its three-game winning streak on the road to face off against Oklahoma Christian in non-conference competition
- Tipoff between the teams is scheduled for 7:00 pm in Edmond from inside Dave Smith Athletic Center
- Last year, SWOSU beat the Lady Eagles 92-69 in the two's first matchup since 2004
- The Lady Bulldogs lead the overall series 15-10 against Oklahoma Christian dating back to the 1977-78 season
- This week marks the final week before SWOSU will take more than three weeks off from outside competition due to Christmas Break
The Opponent
Oklahoma Christian (3-6)
- OC finished last year with a 14-15 overall record and 11-7 record in league play before losing to St. Mary's in the opening round of the Heartland Conference Tournament to end their season
- The Lady Eagles were picked to finish third in the Heartland Conference in the preseason coaches' poll for the 2016-17 season
- Currently, Oklahoma Christian is 3-6 to begin the new season but have not started playing conference games yet in their league
- OC has three double-digit scorers led by Addy Clift's 16.1 points per game, Sarah Parker's 14.9 points per game and 8.3 rebounds per game, and McKenzie Stanford's 12.6 points per game and 6.8 rebounds per game

The Coaches
SWOSU: Kelsi Musick (112-93, 8th season)
- Coach Musick is a two-time GAC Coach of the Year, winning back-to-back honors for the 2011-12 and 2012-13 seasons
- A great developer of talent, Musick has coached one All-American and 15 All-GAC selections, including one Player of the Year recipient
- She earned her 100th win as a head coach last season against rival Northwestern Oklahoma State on January 18, 2016
- Musick has won GAC Tournament Championships in two of the last five years, and made consecutive appearances in the NCAA Tournament in 2012-13 and 2013-14
- Coach Musick has also spent time as an assistant coach at Fresno State, where they won two Western Athletic Conference regular season and tournament titles, as well as qualified for the NCAA Division I National Tournament in the 2008-09 season

- Harding and Henderson State sit atop the GAC standings with 4-0 records in league play
- SWOSU, Arkansas Tech, and Southeastern are next in the rankings with 3-1 records in the conference
- Ouachita and Northwestern hold 2-2 records while Arkansas-Monticello, East Central, and Southern Arkansas have won a single game and hold 1-3 slates

- After their 71-61 win over Southern Arkansas last Saturday, SWOSU now has a three-game winning streak since returning from Thanksgiving Break

Shalie McAlister gave the Lady Dawgs a spark against SAU, scoring a career-high nine points all in the fourth quarter

Tyra Aska also totaled a career high in assists against SAU, collecting eight on the afternoon
- The Lady Bulldogs are shooting 41% (188-of-456) as a team from the field including 31% (54-of-174) from beyond the arc and 67% (102-of-152) from the free-throw line

Hailey Tucker leads the offsensive attack averaging a GAC-best 18.6 points per game while also ranking second in the league in rebounding at 9.1 boards per game
- Tucker also leads the Dawgs in three-point shooting, shooting the deep ball at a 37% clip (14-of-38)
- Through seven games,
Hayden Priddy ranks third in the conference in both assists and steals totaling 37 and 15 respectively, averaging more than five assists and two steals per contest

Looking Ahead
- Saturday will mark the final game before the Lady Bulldogs take more than three weeks off for Christmas Break, when they host the defending national champion Lubbock Christian at 1:00 pm inside the Pioneer Cellular Event Center
- SWOSU won't play again until January 2 when they take on Science & Arts (USAO) at 5:30 pm in more non-conference action
