Setting the Stage
- Following a setback at No. 21 Arkansas Tech on Thursday night, the Lady Bulldogs head to another unfriendly road destination on Saturday for a meeting with Harding
- The Lady Bisons are second in the GAC standings at 9-3 and they are 6-1 on their home floor at Rhodes-Reaves Field House this season
- SWOSU is 0-7 all-time against the Lady Bisons in Searcy, including an 0-4 mark at Harding since joining the Great American Conference
- Harding enters the game with a two-game winning streak while SWOSU is 7-2 in January despite losing two of their last three games
- The Lady Bulldogs are now alone in fifth place in the GAC standings with a 7-5 conference mark, one game out of third place and two games behind Harding for second place
- SWOSU and Harding have split 12 meetings as GAC members, with SWOSU having their most success against the Lady Bisons in Bartlesville with a 3-0 record at the conference tournament

Harding (11-5, 9-3 GAC)
- Ranked sixth in the GAC in scoring at 70.7 points per game while limiting opponents to 63.8 points per for a scoring margin of +6.9
- Led in scoring by Sydney Layrock, who averaged 17.8 points per game, and A'ndrea Haney at 12.8 points per game with five other players scoring six points per game or more
- Ranked third in the league in steals with 137 (8.6/game) behind Haney and Lundon Williams, who rank first and second, respectively, in the league with a combined 81 thefts
- Had five players score in double figures as they defeated SWOSU 85-74 back in November, with Layrock and Sydnie Jones both recording double-doubles
 
The Coaches
SWOSU: Kelsi Musick (101-87; 7th season)
- Two-time GAC Coach of the Year has been the model of consistency, winning GAC Tournament titles in two of the last four years and earning back-to-back NCAA Division II National Tournaments during the 2012-13 and 2013-14 seasons
- Earned her 100th victory as head coach of the Lady Bulldogs on January 18th, 2016 against Northwestern Oklahoma State
- A great developer of talent, Musick has coached one All-American and 12 All-GAC selections, including one Player of the Year recipient
- Musick has also spent time as an assistant coach at Fresno State, where they won two Western Athletic Conference regular season and tournament titles, as well as qualified for the NCAA Division I National Tournament in the 2008-09 season
- Has a record of 6-6 against Harding as the head coach of the Lady Bulldogs, including an 0-4 record in Searcy as conference foes
 
Harding: Tim Kirby (204-102; 11th season)
- Now in his 11th season at Harding, he has led the Lady Bisons to three 20-win seasons and two NCAA Division II national tournament appearances
- Has guided Harding to nine straight conference tournament berths, including a GAC Tournament championship last season
- Spent his first 12 years at Harding as the assistant men's basketball coach, helping the Bisons earn nine postseason appearances

Last Time Out
- After trailing by three points at halftime, SWOSU fell victim to a 12-0 run by No. 21 Arkansas Tech in the middle of the third quarter as the Golden Suns pulled away for a 91-69 victory
- SWOSU shot 40.5% in the first half and battled ATU early on, going to the intermission trailing 38-35 despite hitting just two three-pointers
- Janae Coffee led SWOSU with her third double-double in the past five games, totaling 17 points and 12 rebounds
 
SWOSU Notes
- Janae Coffee has grabbed nine rebounds or more in six straight games, recording three double-doubles along the way, and she ranks third in the GAC with 8.8 boards per game
- Jade Jones, the GAC's leader in assists, was held without an assist for the first time this season on Thursday night against Arkansas Tech
- Jennifer Williams scored 12 points off the bench against Arkansas Tech -- all in the first half -- giving her five double-digit scoring performances in the last eight games
- Hailey Tucker scored nine points on 4-for-17 shooting against ATU, but she was held without a three-pointer for the second straight game, the first time this season she's gone consecutive games without a made three-pointer
- Jessica Penner has combined for eight points in the past three games after recording her second double-double of the season on January 18 against Northwestern Oklahoma State
- Hayden Priddy has scored eight points off the bench in each of the last two games and she's SWOSU's best free throw shooter with 88.6% (39-of-44) accuracy at the stripe
 
Looking Ahead
- The Lady Bulldogs return home next weekend to face Arkansas-Monticello (Thursday) and Southern Arkansas (Saturday)
- Following those two games, SWOSU is on the road for five of their final seven contests to conclude the regular season
