Box Score (html)

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern Oklahoma State connected on 13 three-pointers as they snapped the Lady Bulldogs nine-game winning streak, 82-72, on Wednesday evening in Durant. The defeat is SWOSU's first setback since December 3rd and it drops the Lady Bulldogs to 10-6 (6-4 GAC) on the year.

After trailing 35-29 at halftime, SWOSU got within one point on four occasions during the third quarter and outscored Southeastern 26-24 in the period to go into the fourth down 59-55. The Savage Storm had an answer for each run by the Lady Bulldogs in the fourth quarter, building a lead as high as 15 in the final period before holding on for the 10-point final advantage.

SWOSU shot 40.3% (31-for-77) from the field, not far off the 45.8% (33-for-72) shooting by Southeastern, but the difference came from behind the arc where the Savage Storm knocked down 13-of-31 (41.9%) attempts compared to 2-of-15 (13.3%) shooting for the Lady Bulldogs. SWOSU dominated the points in the paint with a 52-to-24 advantage and second chance points 21-to-13 but the perimeter points favored the home team on Wednesday night.

Four players reached double figures in scoring for SWOSU, including Janae Coffee, who scored all 19 of her points in the second half, and Hailey Tucker, who also had 10 on 7-for-17 shooting. Jade Jones and Jennifer Williams added 10 points apiece with Williams getting all of her production in the first half.

"They shot a phenomenal percentage today, so you have to tip your cap to Southeastern for that," SWOSU Head Coach Kelsi Musick said. "Even when we were contesting them, they were still making shots. Now it's time for our team to respond, we have to be settled and ready to go to work so we can get better

SWOSU will be back at home on Saturday, looking to start a new winning streak when they host GAC newcomer Oklahoma Baptist at noon inside the Pioneer Cellular Event Center.
