Setting the Stage
- The Lady Bulldogs are feeling peachy after recording their first conference and road win of the season against Great American Conference foe Southern Arkansas, 89-78, in Magnolia, Arkansas, last Saturday
- SWOSU now returns home for their first December home game against the Cameron Aggies at 1:00 p.m. inside the Pioneer Cellular Event Center
- The Lady Dawgs will be looking for consecutive wins for the first time this season
 
The Opponent
Cameron (4-2)
- Cameron fell in their only game last week, 58-56, to the University of Arkansas at Fort Smith inside the Aggie Center
- The Aggies are averaging 63.3 points per game, and enjoy a +0.3 scoring margin on their opponents
- As a team, CU is grabbing just 35.8 boards per contest through six games this year, holding a -9.0 rebounding margin. Opposing defenses have a 39.2% offensive rebounding percentage
- Brandi Leal paces the team with 11.2 points per game, while Charron Montgomery is second on the team pouring in 9.7 ppg
- DJ Vallier is the Aggies' top rebounder, averaging 5.3 rebounds per game
- The Aggies have held opposing shooters to just 27.5% from long range and 35.5% from the field so far this season
 
The Coaches
SWOSU: Kelsi Musick (92-85; 7th season) 
- Kelsi Musick is in her sixth season leading the SWOSU women's basketball program
- The two-time GAC Coach of the Year has been the model of consistency, winning GAC Tournament titles in two of the last fours years and earning back-to-back NCAA Division II
National Tournaments during the 2012-13 and 2013-14 seasons
- Her high-energy style of play has led the Lady Dawgs to rank in the top four in the nation in scoring, and top ten in three points made in three of the last four seasons
- A great developer of talent, Musick has coached one All-American and 12 all-GAC selections, including one Player of the Year recipient
- Musick has also spent time as an assistant coach at Fresno State, where they won two Western Athletic Conference regular season and tournament titles, as well as qualified for the NCAA Division I National Tournament in the 2008-09 season
 
Cameron: Tom Webb (76-112, 8th season)
- Tom Webb is entering his eighth season at the helm of the Cameron women's basketball program
- The Aggies enjoyed their best season under Webb last year as he directed them to a 15-12 record and a berth in the NCAA Division II Tournament
- He has coached multiple all-conference selections, including Player of the Year and Newcomer of the Year award-winners
- Webb led Cameron to their first conference tournament berth since 2006 after a ten game winning streak during the 2011-12 season
- Webb has had prior stops at junior college Northwest College (Wyo.) and Division I Eastern Washington, where he worked with the posts. Under his instruction, EWU had four post players earn all-Big Sky honors
 
The Series
- The Lady Bulldogs and Aggies have met 58 times since the two teams began playing each other during the 1977-78 season. SWOSU currently holds a 38-20 recovered over Cameron
- SWOSU beat the Aggies 82-68 in Lawton, Oklahoma, last year. The Lady Dawgs had lost the last three games prior, including both games during the 2011-12 season when SWOSU was transitioning out of the Lone Star Conference and into the GAC
- SWOSU Head Coach Kelsi Musick is a graduate of Cameron, having served as a four-year starter for the Aggies from 1999-2002
Last Time Out
- The Lady Dawgs earned their first win in GAC play, as well as their first road victory, in an 89-78 win over Southern Arkansas. The Lady Muleriders had previously been unbeaten in their first five games
- Janae Coffee led the team with a double-double consisting of 26 points and 27 rebounds. Hayden Priddy also broke the 20-point barrier with 23 points. Nina Gregory (19 points) and Jade Jones (11 points) also reached double figures
- SWOSU dominated on both sides of the glass, pulling down 60 rebounds, 20 more than SAU over the course of the game. Coffee led the team with her 27, while Jones just missed out on a first career triple-double with nine boards
- Jones and Kylee Franz combined for 17 assists
 
Checking the Standings
- SWOSU moved up into a tie for sixth place with a 1-3 record in GAC competition following their win over Southern Arkansas
- Arkansas Tech, Harding and Henderson State all remained unblemished in league play at 4-0
- Southern Arkansas and Arkansas-Monticello sit tied for fourth place with 3-1 records through four conference games
- The Lady Dawgs are tied with five other teams in sixth with 1-3 records: Southern Nazarene, Oklahoma Baptist, Ouachita, Southeastern Oklahoma State and East Central
- Northwestern Oklahoma State is currently the only team without a win in league play, sitting in 12th place with an 0-4 record
 
SWOSU Notes
- The Lady Bulldogs have now hit 90 or more points in two of their last three games. They are currently averaging 75.7 points per game, the third-highest mark in the league
- Coffee set a GAC and SWOSU Division II Era single game record with 27 rebounds. Eleven of her boards were on the offensive glass
- Three players set career-highs in points against SAU: Coffee (26), Priddy (23) and Gregory (19)
- Jones notched her first career double-double with 11 points and a career-high 10 assists on Saturday afternoon
- The Lady Dawgs assisted on 75% of their made baskets on Saturday, their highest mark of the season
- SWOSU holds a -1.9 scoring margin, allowing a league-high 77.6 points to opponents
- With 45.9 rebounds per game, the Lady Dawgs lead the conference, and rank 15th in the nation, in the category, but hold a -1.0 rebounding margin. SWOSU's 34.0 defensive rebounds per game ranks fourth in all Division II
- Three Lady Dawgs are averaging at least 10.0 points per game: Jones (14.6 ppg), Coffee (10.6 ppg) and Hailey Tucker (10.0 ppg)

- SWOSU has rescheduled their previously postponed tilt with Northeastern State. The two teams will now meet at 5:30 p.m. inside the Pioneer Cellular Event Center on December 30 in the final game of the calendar year
