Bulldogs Bounce Back, Sweep Southwestern Christian

WEATHERFORD, Okla. – After seeing their five-game winning streak snapped on Thursday night, the SWOSU Volleyball team rebounded with authority as they swept Southwestern Christian on Friday night inside the Pioneer Cellular Event Center.
 
SWOSU hit .267 or above in each set while holding the Eagles to a hitting percentage of .100 or less in each set, including a -.161 mark in the second set. SCU reached 15 points in the first set, but their scoring went down in the final two as the Bulldog finished off the sweep with wins of 25-12 and 25-11.
 
Kelsi Schmidtberger and Kayla Hebert had eight kills apiece to lead the Bulldogs, who hit .353 for the match with only seven hitting errors. Hebert was the most efficient with all eight of her attack attempts scoring for the Dawgs, while she also added a double-double with 21 assists and 11 digs. DeLayni Fine had a team-high four blocks and the Bulldogs had seven blocks compared to three for Southwestern Christian.
 
The victory improves the Bulldogs to 17-9 on the year with four conference matches remaining. SWOSU is back in action twice next week, traveling to Oklahoma Baptist on Tuesday before Senior Night at the Pioneer Cellular Event Center on Thursday evening against East Central.
