ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – The SWOSU women's basketball team suffered their second consecutive defeat on Saturday, falling to Ouachita Baptist 86-72 at Bill Vining Arena. The Bulldogs were swept on their Arkadelphia road trip and they fall to 14-10 (11-7 GAC) on the year.

SWOSU never led in the game as Ouachita Baptist took control early and built a lead as high as 18 in the first half. That lead was more than enough cushion for OBU, who fought off multiple runs in the second half without letting the Lady Bulldogs get any closer than seven points.

Turnovers and missed opportunities plagued SWOSU, who committed 18 turnovers in the game and lost despite shooting 40.0% (24-of-60) from the field. Ouachita Baptist also held a substantial edge on the boards, outrebounding SWOSU 42-to-32.

Taryn Sayama had 25 points and 7 rebounds to lead the Lady Bulldogs, who connected on 9-of-26 (34.6%) 3-pointers in the game. Kylie Boggess was 4-for-9 from 3-point range and put in 14 points while Jessica Penner added 10 points while grabbing just two rebounds. Michelle Fisher was held below the 10-point mark for just the fourth time this season as she managed just nine points on 3-for-10 shooting.

The loss drops SWOSU into the third-place slot in the Great American Conference standings heading into the final week of the regular season. They will host Southern Nazarene on Tuesday night at 5:30 pm for Senior Night before concluding the season at Northwestern Oklahoma State on Thursday.
