WEATHERFORD, Okla. – Great American Conference-leading Arkansas Tech handed the SWOSU Volleyball team just their second conference sweep on Friday night in a 25-15, 25-22, 25-20 defeat at the Pioneer Cellular Event Center.
Carly Zak had a team-best 10 kills for the Bulldogs and hit .250 for the match while
Shayne Haley finished with eight kills and also hit .250. The Bulldogs hit .168 as a team but committed five service errors and allowed the Golden Suns seven aces.
The Bulldogs were again tough at the net, with Haley leading the charge with three assist blocks as SWOSU out-blocked ATU 3-2.
Kenya Williams had a team-best 15 digs but ATU held a 56-47 advantage in digs for the match.
Brandy Mader recorded 20 assists for the Bulldogs to go along with four kills and three digs and
Kiley Brennfoerder hit a perfect 1.000 with four kills on four attempts to go along with two block assists.
The defeat drops the Bulldogs to 6-11 on the year and 4-6 in Great American Conference play heading into a critical week that will take the team to Ada to play East Central on Tuesday (Oct. 21) before returning home to host Southern Nazarene on Thursday (Oct. 23).
