PUEBLO, Colo. – The Colorado trip was cold for the Southwestern Oklahoma State University volleyball team. SWOSU dropped a tough, five-set match against Lindenwood in Saturday's opener before falling to No.8-ranked Wayne State in the night cap.
 
Lindenwood 3, SWOSU 2 (21-25, 25-14, 21-15, 26-24, 16-18)
 
SWOSU rallied to win sets number two and four and take Saturday's first match to a deciding fifth set. Things looked good for the Lady Bulldogs with a 13-10 lead in the final set, but Lindenwood then rallied for four consecutive points regain control.
 
Consecutive assist blocks from 
Joey Collins and 
Alison Cole and then Cole and 
Christina Darras got SWOSU back on top 15-14 and serving for the match, but Lindenwood extended the match and would eventually claim the match at 18-16.
 
Cole led SWOSU with 16 kills in 42 attempts to go along with nine blocks. Collins and 
Carly Zak each added 13 kills and Collins recorded her first double-double of the season with 11 digs.
 
#8 Wayne State, SWOSU (13-25, 11-25, 20-25)
 
The final match of the tournament posed the toughest opposition for SWOSU in No.8-ranked Wayne State. SWOSU recorded 16 kills for the match with 17 hitting errors, recording a negative percentage for the match.
 
Joey Collins led SWOSU with six kills while 
Christina Darras had three in the effort.
 
SWOSU (3-6) will host Northwestern Oklahoma State on Thursday in the team's Great American Conference opener.
