WEATHERFORD, Okla. – The SWOSU Volleyball team comes home from Texas with a 2-2 record, one they will put on the line tonight against Oklahoma City in the Lady Bulldogs home opener at Rankin Williams Fieldhouse. The match will start at 7 pm.
SWOSU defeated Eastern New Mexico and New Mexico Highlands on Friday, opening the season 2-0 for the first time in program history, before dropping a pair of three-set matches to Midwestern State and Emporia State.
Alison Cole led the SWOSU offense with 41 kills and she currently has the highest hitting percentage in the Great American Conference at .372.
Joey Collins and
Carly Zak were the other top offensive threats for SWOSU, finishing with 38 and 35 kills, respectively, at the tournament.
Breann Whitaker dished out 135 assists to lead the Lady Bulldogs,
Saasha Jacobson has a team-high 59 digs and
Kiley Brennfoerder blocked a team-high 13 attack attempts.
Oklahoma City comes into the match with a 5-3 record. They've defeated Faulkner, Southeastern, Bethel, Kansas Wesleyan and Bethany while losing to Webber International, Coastal Georgia and Park. Tonight's match will be their first meeting with a Division II opponent this year.
