WEATHERFORD, Okla. –
The annual SWOSU Basketball Classic takes on an added level of excitement this season and not just because of the high-level of play expected on the court. This weekend will be celebrated as the 'Farewell to Rankin' with fans and alumni invited to come back and see the Bulldogs play on Kelli Litsch Court one last time.

The Classic starts on Friday at noon but the Bulldogs will not take the court until that evening. At 5:30 pm, the Lady Bulldogs will host Colorado Christian before the men take on No. 13-ranked Midwestern State in the nightcap at 7:30. On Saturday, it's the women facing a ranked foe in No. 13 Colorado Mesa while the Bulldogs conclude play against Angelo State.

Prior to Saturday's night session of games, a brief ceremony will be held to honor Rankin Williams Fieldhouse. The building, which has served as the home of SWOSU Basketball since 1957, will give way to the new Pioneer Cellular Event Center later this season. Among those expected to speak at the ceremony are former SWOSU President Dr. JoAnna Hibler, current President Randy Beutler, Weatherford Mayor Mike Brown and legendary Lady Bulldog Kelli Litsch.

Former players, coaches and alumni are invited to attend the event and meet for a Bulldog social at 4 pm on Saturday in the back gym inside Rankin Williams Fieldhouse.
