WEATHERFORD, Okla. – Armed with a three-game winning streak, the SWOSU men's basketball team will play two games at the Pak-A-Sak West Texas A&M Thanksgiving Classic this weekend in Canyon, Texas.
The Bulldogs play tournament host West Texas A&M on Friday evening at 7:30 pm before finishing up against Eastern New Mexico on Saturday afternoon at 2:30 pm.
SWOSU has won three straight road games to improve to 3-2 on the year. The Bulldogs defeated USAO 75-68 to get the streak started before going on the road in conference action last weekend and defeating Arkansas-Monticello and Southern Arkansas. SWOSU is one of just two teams – along with Southeastern Oklahoma State – that are 2-0 in GAC action after the first week.
West Texas A&M enters the weekend 3-2 with victories over Newman, Panhandle State and Wayland Baptist and defeats against CSU-Pueblo and top-ranked Metro State. Eastern New Mexico is 2-2 with a win over the University of the Southwest, a loss against Missouri Southern and a series split against Lubbock Christian.
Leading the charge for SWOSU has been
Gary Inglett, one of two players in the Great American Conference currently averaging a double-double. Inglett has put up 17.6 points and 10.2 rebounds per game in his first five games as a Bulldog and while scoring at least 14 points in each game.
Other top performers for SWOSU round out the starting five as
Rod Camphor and
Trent Washington are also averaging double figures in scoring with
Michael Bradley and
Kenyan Borders not far behind. Camphor and Washington have both scored 14.6 points per game while Bradley ranks second in the conference in blocks and Borders is ranked second in steals.
