WEATHERFORD, Okla. – The SWOSU volleyball team wrapped up the regular season portion of the 2013 season on Senior Day Saturday afternoon at Rankin Williams Fieldhouse against Midwestern State.
The Bulldogs honored four seniors –
Alison Cole,
Christina Darras,
Saasha Jacobson and
Breann Whitaker – prior to the match and all four performed admirably but could not keep SWOSU from suffering a 3-0 defeat. Set scores were 25-22, 25-19, 25-17.
Cole led the way with 11 kills and a .474 hitting percentage after committing just two hitting errors.
Joey Collins was close behind, finishing with eight kills while Darras had four kills and committed just one error.
Whitaker finished with 30 assists in the match while Jacobson led SWOSU with a team-high seven digs. The Bulldogs recorded eight blocks in the match with
Kiley Brennfoerder leading the way with five while Darras finished with four.
SWOSU finishes the regular season with a record of 13-20. They will enter the Great American Conference tournament as the No. 5 seed and they will face No. 4 seed Ouachita Baptist in the quarterfinals on Thursday evening at 7:30 pm in Hot Springs, Ark.
