Southwestern Oklahoma State University Athletics

A graduate of Altus High School, Buck was a record-setting quarterback for the Bulldogs in the mid 1950’s. He completed better than 54% of his attempts and totaled 279 completions in his career. Both marks stood for close to 30 years. He graduated from Southwestern with a degree in business education and later earned his master’s degree in 1963. Buck taught and coached at Mangum, Elk City and Tipton High School before settling down at Altus where he would spend the next 20 years before retiring in 1991.
