Foster was a member of two NAIA National Championship basketball teams in 1983 and 1985. She was a first-team, all-American in 1984 and was an honorable mention selection in 1983. During her three-year career with Southwestern, her teams combined for a 95-5 record including an undefeated 34-0 season in 1985. She still holds the school record for most blocked shots in a game when she swatted away seven against Mary Hardin-Baylor in 1984. She averaged better than 14 points and six rebounds per game, ending her career with 1,208 career points and 526 rebounds.
